A local chiropractic clinic wanted one thing: to show up when patients asked ChatGPT for recommendations. Getting there meant rebuilding the site from Wix to a custom PHP platform, migrating the SEO without losing a single ranking, and shipping fresh AI-ready content before launch.
The client runs a local chiropractic practice and hired me through Upwork for a project titled AEO Assistance Needed for AI (Chat GPT) Optimization. Her goal was specific and modern: when someone in her area asks ChatGPT where to find a chiropractor, her clinic should be part of the answer. Client identity is kept private at her request, but the engagement details, hours, and review shown here are pulled directly from the verified Upwork contract.
The clinic's site was built on Wix. For a business chasing AI visibility, that was the first bottleneck. Wix sites carry heavy JavaScript layers, limited control over server response and markup, and slower load profiles, none of which helps when AI crawlers like GPTBot are deciding which local sources are worth citing.
The bigger risk was the fix itself. Replatforming an established local business site is where SEO usually dies: broken permalinks, lost redirects, dropped metadata, and a traffic graph that falls off a cliff the week after launch. The job was to move fast toward AI readiness without sacrificing a single existing ranking in the process.
Before anything moved, I inventoried every existing URL, benchmarked current rankings and traffic, and built a one to one permalink map. Every page on the old Wix site had a decided destination, either an exact URL match or a 301 redirect, before development started.
I rebuilt the site as a custom coded PHP platform. I prefer custom builds for AI SEO work because they are faster, more reliable, and give complete control over the technical layer: clean crawlable HTML, precise heading structure, schema placement, and page speed that template builders cannot match.
Titles, metadata, headings, and internal links were carried over deliberately, not copy-pasted. Redirects were tested pre-launch, and permalinks were monitored through the switchover so nothing resolved to a 404. The goal was a migration that search engines barely notice and users never do.
The relaunch was not a straight port. I added fresh, entity-clear content and additional service landing pages structured the way answer engines extract information: direct answers, clear service definitions, and structured data matching the visible content.
Every page passed pre-checks before touching the live server: redirect chains, schema validation, mobile rendering, crawlability, and load performance. Only then did the new platform go live.
After launch, I tracked crawl behavior, index coverage, and AI engine responses to confirm the migration held and the new content was being picked up.
Within roughly one month of launch, the clinic's site was being cited by AI language models and appearing for relevant searches in ChatGPT, which was exactly the outcome the client hired for. The response was tremendous and fast by AI visibility standards, where new sites often wait months to earn their first citation.
Just as importantly, the migration itself was clean. Traffic did not decline through the platform switch, permalinks held, and the clinic kept its existing search presence while gaining a new one inside AI answers.
The client closed the 118 hour engagement with a 5.0 review and endorsed the work as Collaborative and Accountable for Outcomes.

Most local businesses try to bolt AI visibility onto a slow template site and wonder why nothing gets cited. Here, the technical foundation came first: a fast custom build that AI crawlers can read without friction, then content structured for extraction, then landing pages targeting the exact questions patients ask. The migration discipline mattered just as much. AI visibility gains mean nothing if you burn your existing traffic getting there, which is why every permalink was mapped and monitored before, during, and after the switch.

This clinic's result is not a one-off. I have spent 8,800+ hours on Upwork doing exactly this kind of work: platform migrations, technical SEO, and AI visibility for local and global clients across the US, UK, Australia, and India. Every number on this profile is public and verifiable.
