What does this tool check?

This tool fetches your page and up to three competitor pages, then reads every JSON-LD structured data block each one declares. It lists every schema type found — Organization, LocalBusiness, Person, FAQPage, Product, Service, Article, BreadcrumbList, HowTo, Review, and anything nested inside an @graph — and puts them side by side. Your coverage score reflects how much of the combined markup landscape you own. Any type a competitor has and you don't is flagged as a gap, because those are the exact places where they qualify for Google rich results and AI citations from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini while you don't. The check reads the same source code that Googlebot and GPTBot read, so what you see here is what the engines see.

How to use it (3 steps)

  1. Paste your page URL and up to 3 competitors — use the pages that compete for the same query, not just homepages.
  2. Get your coverage score and the side-by-side gap table showing who has which schema type.
  3. Copy the missing schema types into your build list, or get the full report by email with priority order and code snippets.

Why schema gaps cost you AI citations

Schema markup is how machines confirm what your page is about. When a competitor's service page carries LocalBusiness, FAQPage, and Service markup and yours carries nothing, the engines have three verified data structures on their side and zero on yours — and citation systems consistently favor the source they can parse without guessing. I see this on client sites weekly: a chiropractic clinic I worked with earned its first ChatGPT citation about 30 days after we shipped a connected schema graph, and pages with FAQPage markup routinely win the "People Also Ask" style placements that feed AI Overviews. The pattern repeats across industries — the site with the complete graph gets named; the site without it gets summarized anonymously. Closing the gap is usually a day of work: generate the missing types with my Schema Markup Generator, wire them to your existing entity, and re-check. If you'd rather have it done for you, that's exactly what my schema implementation service covers, and my guide on building a JSON-LD schema graph walks through the full @graph structure. FAQ

Yes. The checker, the coverage score, and the side-by-side gap table are completely free with no signup and no usage limits. Only the detailed fix-it report, with priority order and code snippets, asks for an email address.

It detects every JSON-LD type declared on the page, including Organization, LocalBusiness, Person, WebSite, WebPage, FAQPage, Product, Service, Article, BreadcrumbList, HowTo, Review, and nested types inside @graph structures.

Yes. Structured data makes your entity, services, and FAQs machine-readable, which helps AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini understand and cite your brand accurately. It also unlocks Google rich results that feed AI Overviews.

Re-run the check after any template change, redesign, or CMS update, and quarterly otherwise. Competitors add schema constantly, so a gap that didn't exist last quarter may be costing you rich results today.

Some sites block automated requests with a firewall or render their schema with client-side JavaScript. If that happens, view your page source, copy the JSON-LD blocks, and validate them manually, or request the emailed report and I'll check it by hand.
